Subject: Research Assistant Positions Available with University of Maryland
School of Medicine's Department of Ophthalmology
Description:
Dr. Osamah Saeedi at UMSOM's Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences
is looking to hire two full-time Research Assistants for the 2022-2023 year.
Positions typically span 12 months but can be extended as needed. The start
date is May 2022 or earlier, but employment before this time is possible and
encouraged for training purposes. Previous employees have gone on to medical
school and residency at the University of Maryland, Johns Hopkins, Baylor,
and the University of Pittsburgh.
The Research Assistants play an integral role in multiple clinical and
translational research studies. Translational studies involve working with
rabbits and non-human primates. This position allows for clinical exposure
and the opportunity to present/publish research, with a strong focus on
in-depth scientific research and data analysis.
Ideal candidates are highly collaborative, organized, and detail-oriented,
with significant research, laboratory, and/or clinical experiences. MATLAB
proficiency is preferred but not required for this position.
