Subject: Group Volunteering with Food Recovery Network
Description:
Is your club or organization interested in a group volunteering activity this
semester? Consider recovering the leftover food one or a few nights at 251
North Campus Diner (8:15-8:45 pm), South Campus Dining Hall (8:45-9:30 pm),
or during an athletic event. Volunteering with your club can bring your group
closer together and help the surrounding community. Email us at
[log in to unmask] for more information to reserve volunteer opportunities for
your group.
The Food Recovery Network (FRN) is a student group at the University of
Maryland dedicated to packing surplus food from University diners and
delivering it to community partners that provide meals for the hungry in the
Washington, D.C. area. This engages a diverse array of students, staff,
faculty, and administrators to build a community around the service we do,
and helps to make the University of Maryland a leader in sustainability by
taking a vital step towards zero waste.
