Subject: Minority Mental Health in the Twin Pandemics Event
Description:
Join Lean On Me CP, The Multi-Ethnic Mental Health Organization, and Marvyn
Arevalo Avalos from the UMD Counseling Center for a 1-hour dialogue about
mental health in pandemic times for minorities! Marvyn Arevalo Avalos will
discuss some of the common issues faced by students due to the twin pandemics
of covid-19 and racism, as well as how these two pandemics have
disproportionately impacted minority mental health. Students will have time
to share their thoughts and experiences in student-facilitated small groups.
This event will be held on Monday, April 26 from 5pm-6pm.
