Subject: Vascular Health and Exercise Study - Participants Needed
Description:
Researchers at the University of Maryland, College Park are recruiting 30
sedentary or recreationally active individuals (ages 18-35), non-smokers, not
pregnant, no diagnosed cardiovascular disease, no type 1 or type 2, and not
on medications, to participate in a study designed to evaluate the effects of
exercise and body composition on vascular health.
After screening for eligibility, participants will participate in a baseline
evaluation session that includes health and physical activity questionnaires,
body composition measurement, and an exercise test (~1 hour). Then
participants complete 3 sessions (~2 hours each) involving either exercise or
sitting with blood draws and blood pressure-like measurements during each
session.
Upon completion of the study, participants will receive $80 in compensation,
as well as information on their body composition.
