Subject: OPEN SEATS! Register for BSCI238F: Introduction to Python
Programming for the Life Sciences!
Description:
Are you a life science major interested in learning how to code? BSCI238F:
Introduction to Python Programming for Life Sciences is available on Testudo
for registration ~ the class takes place Fridays 3:00-5:00pm.
BSCI238F is a Fall 2022 one-credit, student-taught course (STIC) for
undergraduate life sciences students with little-to-no programming experience
who are looking to start building a strong computational foundation starting
with Python. This course is structured in a guided and collaborative
environment to foster a strong foundation in and appreciation for coding and
its widespread applications in the life sciences.
In addition to learning the basics of Python, we will explore how programming
is used in the broader context of the life sciences, research, and
healthcare, while also touching on ethical coding, the issues around big data
and data privacy, and how they overlap with the responsibilities of a
scientist.
Unsure about the class? Feel free to sit in during add-drop period and to ask
questions during/after class. Additionally, please feel free to reach out
