Subject: Recruiting Volunteers to Mentor Local High School Students

Hello UMD Students!

College Mentors For Success (CMFS) is currently looking for mentors who will
work closely with high school students at College Park Academy (CPA) and
DuVal High School focused on college preparation! Mentors will work in groups
of 1-2 and plan workshops tailored to key goals for 6-8 students in one of
the four grade levels (9th-12th grade). We are looking to recruit a diverse
group of mentors with different academic interests/goals and backgrounds. All
meetings will be virtual with students besides occasional in-person mentor
mentee bonding sessions.

We hope to continue to work closely with CPA and DuVal and to expand our
services to other schools in Prince George’s County, since there is a large
gap in college readiness and high school dropout rates when compared to the
state and national levels.
