Subject: Job opportunity for a pre-med, pre-PA professional

Description:
Potomac Valley Pediatrics, located in North Potomac, Maryland, is a
well-established medical office that specializes in pediatric and adolescent
care. Our office is currently accepting applications for a medical assistant
to assist physicians, a physician assistant, and a nurse practitioner in both
patient care and administrative tasks. This is a full-time position and
requires excellent interpersonal and time management skills, as well as the
ability to learn and adapt quickly.
Job Responsibilities:
Interacting with patients and families in a positive and friendly manner
Collecting and documenting patient vitals in an EMR system (eClinicalWorks)
Performing in-house labs, including rapid strep, mono, influenza, and RSV
tests, urine dips, and hemoglobin checks
Administering nebulizer treatments, ear lavages, oral medications, and
routine vaccinations 	
Managing the provider workflow in the clinical department by obtaining a
health history and documenting accordingly 	
Will be cross-trained as a front desk administrative assistant in order to
answer patient phone calls, take and respond to messages for providers,
assist with outgoing referrals, schedule appointments, and verify insurance
eligibility
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or current CMA/CNA certificate required	
CPR certification required 		
Experience working as a team member in a healthcare environment 	
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to perform multiple tasks
simultaneously
1 year commitment is required, long term commitment is preferred 	
General knowledge of HIPAA, electronic medical record systems, and Microsoft
Office preferred
Professional communication and customer service skills
