Subject: Recruiting Spanish-English Bilinguals for Brain Injury Study
Description:
The Aphasia Research Center from the Department of Hearing and Speech
Sciences at the University of Maryland is conducting a research study to
develop better language assessment materials for Spanish-English speakers
with brain injury.
We are recruiting adult speakers who are 30-70 years old and are: monolingual
English speakers, or highly proficient Spanish-English bilingual speakers, or
Spanish-English bilingual speakers with a diagnosis of aphasia, who were
highly proficient in both languages prior to their brain injury.
All participation will be completed online over the computer.
If you are a monolingual English speaker, the procedures involve a 15-minute
phone screen, and 2 hours of testing. You will be reimbursed $50 at the
completion of the study.
If you are bilingual Spanish-English speaker, the procedures involve a 25
minute phone screen and 5 hours of testing (over two sessions). You will be
reimbursed $100 at the completion of the study.
