Dear Colleagues,

I am a newly appointed Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering at the University of Idaho. I will greatly appreciate if you could circulate this email to UG (senior) or Master students who you think would be interested.

One PhD position is immediately available in my new Lab located in the Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering at the University of Idaho. Specific research topics are (1) stochastic model predictive control of non-linear dynamical systems toward novel applications in neurophysiological and psychiatric systems, and (2) modeling, analysis, and control of brain circuits underlying neurophysiological and psychiatric disorders. It is desired to have a strong background in mathematics and computing. No prior background in stochastic systems, advanced control theory, and neuroscience are required. If you are interested in working with me on novel problems at the interface of stochastic control theory and neuroscience, please send me your CV or contact me for further details (including application package and research projects) at [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]> .

Note: The application deadline for Spring 2017 admission is September 01, 2016.

Thanks.

Sincerely yours,

Gautam
