Dear CAST Colleagues,

We invite graduate students and post-doctoral researchers from the Process
Systems Engineering (PSE) community to apply for the 2017 Robert F. Smith
School Distinguished Junior Researchers Seminar program. This year, at least
two junior PSE researchers will be invited to visit Cornell University in
Ithaca, New York, and to deliver seminars on their research. This program
will cover invited speakers’ travel expenses, including economy class
airfare (restricted to domestic travel within the U.S.), lodging, and meals.
These seminars will be scheduled in September and November. We will prepare
flyers for this seminar series and advertise it across Cornell's main campus
in Ithaca and Tech campus in New York City. Details of this program,
including information on the previous seminar series in 2016, can be found
from the following page:

http://peese.org/distinguished-junior-researchers-seminar

To apply, please send a CV (with a list of publications and conference
presentations) to: [log in to unmask]

By submitting an application, the individual acknowledges that:
1. the application has been approved by his/her advisor(s);
2. the invited speaker's CV will be made publicly available through the
program webpage.

We also plan to record the seminar presentations and make the videos
available in YouTube, and/or share them through WebEx/Zoom, upon receiving
permissions from the invited seminar speakers. All applications will be
reviewed by a faculty committee, and decisions will be made based on the
candidates' research accomplishments, including originality, creativity and
productivity. Candidates working on topics related to Industry 4.0,
sustainability, and/or data-driven decision-making are strongly encouraged
to apply. The application deadline is July 1, 2017.

Information about Cornell University could be found from the page below:

This seminar program is supported by Roxanne E. and Michael J. Zak Endowed
Chair, Robert F. Smith Innovation Fund, and National Science Foundation.
