The Automatic Control Laboratory (LA) of the Swiss Federal Institute of
Technology in Lausanne (EPFL) is looking for a qualified candidate to
undertake doctoral work in the field of Measurement-Based Optimization.

The project will focus on the theoretical development of NCO tracking, a
methodology developed by the LA that converts a dynamic optimization
problem with both path and terminal constraints into a feedback control
problem. Applicants should have a strong background in automatic control
and optimization. The position is available immediately, but a start
within 3-6 months is acceptable.

The Automatic Control Laboratory is a multidisciplinary teaching and
research unit that includes 2 professors, 1 senior lecturer, 4 research
associates, about 15 doctoral candidates as well as technical and
administrative supporting staff. Research and computing facilities are
of the highest standard. More information can be found at:
http://lawww.epfl.ch

For application, please use the form provided by the doctoral school at:
http://phd.epfl.ch/page58053.html, and send the complete application
package, indicating your intention to be hired by the LA and including 3
reference letters, to either of the contact persons listed hereafter.
Your application will then be forwarded to the doctoral school directly
by the LA. (Please pay no attention to the deadlines mentioned on the
doctoral school’s webpage, for this is a specific opening to the LA.)
