Request for Proposals from ABB (Deadline: September 30, 2013)

ABB, the leading power and automation technology group, invites proposals
from academic and research institutes around the world to support
promising graduate students with projects that combine academic research
with industrial application in the power and automation area.

ABB already collaborates with a number of academic research groups world-
wide. The ABB Research Grant Program is intended to enlarge and complement
the circle of our university partners.

The application process will start on September 2, 2013 and will close on
September 30, 2013. Funding will be approved for one year at a time, but
the program is designed to fund projects over multiple years. Grants will
typically fall within the range of $50,000 to $80,000 a year and the
principal investigator or main applicant will hold a position as a
professor associated with a university, university college, or research
institute.

Successful candidates will be notified starting October 31, 2013 and
funding will commence on January 1, 2014. All dates are subject to change
by ABB.

Further information about the program is provided in the attached PDF
file; please also see
