Professor Lazaros Papageorgiou and Dr. Vivek Dua (UCL Chemical
Engineering) are looking for two outstanding postdoctoral researchers with
extensive experience in modelling and optimisation techniques for planning
and scheduling, to work on a project to assess the impact of uncertainty
on optimal decision making in the process industry. The project is funded
by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) and is
in collaboration with investigators from the Department of Computing at
Imperial College London and Imperial Business School. All the
investigators are members of the Centre for Process Systems Engineering
(CPSE), a joint centre between Imperial College London and University
College London. The post is available for 24 months in the first instance
from 1 October 2015 or as soon as possible thereafter.
The candidate should be creative and knowledgeable, and hold a PhD in
Engineering with advanced understanding of process systems, planning and
scheduling, supply chains, mathematical programming, and computational
model-based techniques for optimisation. The applicant must either have
already completed a doctorate, or have submitted his or her thesis prior
to taking up the post.
