Multiple positions are available for design and development of catalytic
distillation processes with applications to the production of biofuels and
chemicals. Several projects, sponsored by US Department of Energy SBIR
awards, are under development in collaborative work between KSE, Inc. and
the University of Massachusetts. The projects involve conceptual design,
cost estimation, optimization, catalyst development and testing, equipment
fabrication and experimental demonstration of the designs. Both
organizations are located in Amherst Massachusetts, USA approximately 2
hours from Boston and 3 hours from New York. The following positions are
available immediately.
• PhD Chemical Engineer with background and interests in conceptual design
and optimization of reaction-separation systems, especially reactive
distillation. Successful candidates should be within 4 years of earning
the PhD in chemical engineering. Appointment as either a Postdoc or
Senior Postdoc at a salary commensurate with experience. Demonstration of
independent research accomplishments and communication skills is
required. Contact Professor Michael F. Malone at [log in to unmask]
