I am delighted to announce the recipients of the 2014 AIChE CAST Division Awards.  For the first time in recorded history, there is a tie for the CAST Outstanding Young Researcher Award!



*         Computing in Chemical Engineering Award:  Richard Braatz, Massachusetts Institute of Technology

*         Computing Practice Award:  John M. Wassick, The Dow Chemical Company

*         W. David Smith, Jr. Graduation Publication Award:  Ruth Misener, Imperial College London

*         CAST Outstanding Young Researcher Award:   Benoit Chachuat, Imperial College London, and Mario Eden,  Auburn University (tied)

*         David Himmelblau Award for Innovations in Computer-Based Chemical  Engineering Education:  John Hedengren, Brigham Young University



I hope you can join us on November 18th at the CAST Awards Banquet during the AIChE Annual Meeting in Atlanta where the recipients will be recognized.
