Manage an R&D group of 5-8 people applying operations research technology 
to supply chain and network optimization. The project portfolio will 
impact all aspects of Praxair’s product supply modes, including on-site, 
liquid and packaged gases. Project opportunities will include but are not 
limited to supply chain network analysis, planning and scheduling, 
inventory management, and vehicle routing.  The candidate will be 
responsible for project portfolio development and prioritization, 
overseeing project execution, and managing employee performance and 
development. They will be expected to interface with a diverse set of 
customers across the organization, including our Global Operations 
Excellence (GOE) organization as well as senior management responsible for 
supply and distribution in each of our global regions.  They will be 
required to understand the needs of their client base, translate those 
needs into technology programs, and work with the businesses to prioritize 
and resource them. The will also be required to manage external 
relationships with suppliers and academia. 

The ideal candidate will have MS or PhD degree in Chemical Engineering, 
Industrial Engineering or Operations Research with at least 5 years 
industrial experience in solving supply chain problems using advanced 
analytical techniques. Candidates with existing technology management 
experience are preferred. They should be able to effectively partner with 
internal business customers to develop and articulate value propositions 
and business cases for technology programs.  The candidate should 
demonstrate high levels of enthusiasm and leadership capability, strong 
verbal and written communication skills, a team-oriented focus, and an 
ability to find innovative technical solutions that best meet the needs of 
the customer. The candidate needs to be willing to travel globally, and be 
comfortable in interfacing with people from a variety of cultures and 
business backgrounds.
