Process Research Engineer

There is an immediate opening for a Process Research Engineer for our 
programs in Methane Conversion. Process Research Engineers are involved 
in reaction engineering, conceptual design, flowsheet simulation, 
process economics and optimization. Candidate must be milestone driven, 
ability to be self-managing and task focused. Willingness and ability to 
work as a team member in a fast-paced startup company is necessary. The 
company offers comprehensive benefits package (health, dental, vision, 
401k plan) plus stock options. The company is located in Santa Barbara, CA.

Key responsibilities include:
Working on flowsheet development, analysis and interpretation of 
laboratory data, equipment design with implementation, and economic 
analysis.
Play a key role in developing new technologies and leveraging existing 
technologies to maximize the intellectual property portfolio.
Evaluate existing process configurations to reduce capital and operating 
costs.
Collaborating with multidisciplinary technical groups and exhibiting 
strong teamwork and communication skills.

Qualifications:
Experience in advanced process design either in industrial practice 
and/or in a significant academic program (Ph.D. or equivalent)
Expertise in process design, process control, modeling, reactor and 
separation system design, optimization.
Ability to create novel engineering processes to implement chemistry 
developed in the laboratory.
Strong interest in teamwork, motivated, and demonstrated leadership 
aptitude is important.

Additional skills desired:
Process simulation in Aspen, Hysys; Other programming skills desirable 
e.g. Fortran, VB, MATLAB, etc.
