Minimum salary £71,760 per annum. Full-time, open-ended appointment 

The Department of Chemical Engineering at Imperial College London is 
consistently recognised as world-leading, heading the ranking list in 
the last three UK Research Assessment Exercises, in 1996, 2001 and 2008 
and in the Research Excellence Framework in 2014. The Centre for Process 
Systems Engineering resides within the Department and is a multi-
institutional centre with a worldwide reputation for shaping the 
direction of systems engineering research. 

We attribute our success to the wide range of skills and expertise of 
our students and staff. Our research interests range from the 
microscopic e.g. molecular organisation and interactions - to the 
megascale e.g. design and optimisation of whole distribution networks. 
We have expertise in mathematical analysis and modelling as well as in 
experimental investigation and measurement. In all of these areas we 
deploy, and indeed often devise ourselves, the most up-to-date methods. 
Much of our research is collaborative and cross-disciplinary within and 
across departments, across different faculties, as well as with other 
Universities, and with Industrial partners both in the United Kingdom 
and worldwide. 

The Department is seeking to make an appointment at a Professorial level 
in the area of process systems engineering. The appointee will work 
within the Centre for Process Systems Engineering and will have an 
outstanding track record in at least some of the areas of; product and 
process design, operations, automation and control, modelling and model 
solutions with a focus on either process systems, molecular systems, 
biological systems, environmental systems or energy systems. 

Applicants must be a graduate (or equivalent) in Chemical Engineering or 
a related discipline, and also hold a doctorate (or equivalent). You 
should have an outstanding research record, as demonstrated by your 
publications. In addition to the application form, you should attach a 
full CV (including a list of publications) that covers any aspects of 
your career not covered by the online form, a statement of your research 
plans over the next 5 years (2 pages maximum) and a brief statement of 
your teaching interests (1 page maximum).
