Dear Colleagues,
The Department of Chemical Engineering at Imperial College London is
seeking to appoint an outstanding individual for the new *ABB Chair of
Autonomous Industrial Systems*. ABB is an internationally leading
technology company in industrial automation and electrification, working
closely with end-user companies in the energy, chemicals, minerals and
marine sectors.
We are seeking a person who will initiate and lead a world-class
research programme in *digitalisation and autonomous process operation*
using methods such as industrial Artificial Intelligence (AI), machine
learning, modelling, and optimization.
The successful candidate will maintain and further develop collaborative
research links that currently exist between the Department and ABB
researchers in Europe and elsewhere in the world. Mechanisms for this
include co-ordination of publicly-funded projects in collaboration with
ABB and other partners, arranging industrial placements for doctoral
students and researchers, and hosting visits from ABB researchers.
