Two postdoctoral positions are available starting immediately in Center for Uncertain Systems: Tools for Optimization and Management (CUSTOM), Vishwamitra Research Institute (VRI), to work on projects in the broad areas of energy, environment, sustainability, and batch process design and control.
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. degree in chemical engineering or a closely related area (such as mechanical engineering, or operations research) prior to the start date of the position.
Preference will be given to those applicants with a strong fundamental background in optimization and control and research experience in one or more of the following areas: energy systems modeling, ecological and economic modeling, batch processes design and control.
Strong oral and written communication skills are essential, as evidenced by refereed journal publications and conference presentations.
VRI (www.vri-custom.org) is a non-profit research organization known for interdisciplinary research in five areas: (1)energy and environment, (2) algorithms, methods, and tools, (3) materials and molecular modeling, (4) management and planning, and (5) sustainability.
