It is my pleasure to announce the winner of the CAST Directors' Award for
Best Poster Presentation.

The winning poster was presented by Janna Martinek, entitled "Modeling and
Optimization of a Multiple Tube Solar Receiver for High Temperature
Solar-Thermal Processes." The poster was authored by Janna Martinek, Carl
Bingham and Alan W. Weimer from the Department of Chemical and Biological
Engineering, University of Colorado, Boulder, CO, and National Renewable
Energy Laboratory, Golden, CO.

Honorable mention goes to presenters Yijie Gao and Fani Boukouvala for the
poster entitled "Multivariate Analysis and Reduced Order Modeling Based On
Discrete Element Method (DEM) Simulations for a Powder Blender", authored by
Yijie Gao, Fani Boukouvala, Fernando J. Muzzio and Marianthi G.
Ierapetritou, from Chemical and Biochemical Engineering, Rutgers University,
Piscataway, NJ

More information about the award:

The "CAST Directors' Award," established in 1997, is given for the best
poster presentation at the AIChE Annual Meeting. The First Place award
consists of a plaque with citation and an honorarium of $500. There may also
be up to three posters receiving Honorable Mention. The winners are selected
by majority vote of CAST Directors, or substitutes selected by the
Directors, who attend the poster session. The results are announced as soon
as possible after the meeting and a formal presentation of the plaque and
honorarium for the First Place winner will be made at the CAST Award Dinner
to author(s) attending the next AIChE Annual Meeting.
