Apply operations research techniques to solve challenging supply chain,
logistics and network optimization problems. The project portfolio will
impact all aspects of Praxair’s product supply modes, including on-site,
liquid and packaged gases. Project opportunities will include but are not
limited to supply chain network analysis, planning and scheduling,
inventory management, and vehicle routing. The candidate will be involved
in technology development programs from concept initiation through
commercialization, and be expected to work closely with the Operations and
Business organizations globally. As a result, they will need to develop
credible business cases for new technology programs, actively participate
in the technical development, and lead multi-disciplinary project
execution teams. They will also be expected to stay abreast of new
technology developments in their field of expertise, and actively
contribute ideas for new R&D programs.
The ideal candidate will have a PhD degree in Chemical Engineering,
Industrial Engineering, Operations Research or a related field while
specializing in optimization, supply chain and logistics analysis.
Priority will be given to those with previous industrial experience.
Related background in data mining, statistical process control, and other
modeling techniques is also valuable. The candidate should not only
exhibit technical excellence, but will be willing and able to champion new
ideas and technology within Praxair. To do this effectively, the candidate
should demonstrate high levels of enthusiasm and leadership capability,
strong verbal and written communication skills, a team-oriented focus, and
an ability to find innovative technical solutions that best meet the needs
of the customer. The candidate should be willing to travel globally, and
be comfortable in interfacing with people from a variety of cultures and
business backgrounds.
