Dear CAST10 colleagues,

Emerging frontiers of systems and computational biology will rely on the development of methods that combine the scalability of AI/ML (to big data) with the insights offered by mechanistic modeling of physical, chemical, and biological processes. Since hunkering down, colleagues and I have had opportunity to explore new ways to combine AI/ML and ODE modeling for the smallest yet arguably most impactful organisms: viruses.

Please forward a post-doc opportunity to your senior grad students — or past students/post-docs at other institutions, who might have students seeking opportunities. Details are attached. Candidates with minimal training in biology, but with strong computational and modeling experience, are encouraged to apply.

Best wishes,
John Yin
