FOCAPO 2008 (Foundations of Computer-Aided Process Operations) is the 5th
international conference offered by the CACHE organization to review the
advances and address the challenges of process operations. It will take
place at the Royal Sonesta in downtown Boston between June 29th and July
2nd. There are a number of interesting invited speakers for the sessions to
be held Monday to Wednesday, in addition to William Pulleybank from IBM
being the Keynote speaker on Sunday evening. The sessions cover:
Integration of Control, Scheduling, and Planning; Enterprise-Wide
Optimization; Modeling, Optimization, and Information Technologies;
Forecasting, Finance, and Risk Management; Sustainable Resource Systems; and
Emerging Technologies.
A major part of the conference is the session of Contributed Papers. In the
context of the theme of the conference "Multi-Scale Integration of R&D,
Manufacturing, and Optimization for Enterprise-Wide Operations" we are
seeking papers that cover the traditional process operations areas in
addition to areas that may not have been focused on at previous FOCAPO
conferences. These non-traditional areas might include energy, multiscale
modeling, systems biology, nano-applications, etc. Abstracts of no longer
than 500 words are being accepted until October 1, 2007.
For more details on the conference and how to submit a contributed paper
abstract see FOCAPO.org and the attached brochure.
