Manage the site Gasoline Applications and global modelling/ simulation
groups within Clean Air Technology, ensuring the strategic delivery of
technical programmes. Work closely with the Applications Manager of each
site, Gasoline/ Diesel Product Development Directors, Global Technical
Account Directors and Global Technical Account Managers, to ensure the
demonstration of market leading, next generation catalyst systems in line
with strategic objectives and the ten-year plan, as well as providing
technical guidance and support to customers on current and future
applications.
Drive and support site continuous improvement programmes where appropriate,
and the implementation of best practice principles, to enhance existing
systems in Technology and Operations and improve KPIs.
Lead activities to improve Behavioural Safety and ensure a high standard of
ethical compliance.
*Key Responsibilities*
- Manage and develop the site Gasoline Applications and global
modelling/ simulation groups, ensuring the delivery of market leading
Gasoline catalyst systems in-line with the strategic objectives of the
Company.
- Work closely with the Global Technical Account Directors, Global
Technical Account Managers and Regional Technical Account Managers to
support the delivery of technical programmes as required by OEMs.
- Ensure that customer requirements are translated into meaningful test
programmes, enabling the Product Development team to continuously develop
the Company’s product portfolio.
- Lead the site Gasoline Applications and global modelling/ simulation
groups to support and develop internal and external customer programmes and
ensure the appropriate level of support provided to customers in-line with
the regional commercial strategy.
- Liaise with internal teams to ensure that NPI activities are
appropriately supported, including contributing to DFMEA, specification
definitions and NPI feasibility.
- Develop the regional resourcing strategy to ensure efficient operation
of the group and ensure that the business objectives for global accounts,
both key and new accounts, and new product development are successfully
achieved.
- Manage direct reports and support the development of the site Gasoline
Applications and global modelling/ simulation teams ensuring the strategic
use of experience and competencies, particularly for gasoline and
modelling.
- Undertake monthly reporting and analysis activities.
- Set and control annual budgets, including Capex, for the Regional
Gasoline Applications group. Manage groups to operate within annual
expenditure budgets.
- Encourage high standards of EHS behaviour amongst team members,
identifying and implementing improvements to EHS systems and practices when
required
- As part of the senior Technology Management team, contribute to the
strategic direction and day-to-day running of the Technology function.
*Are you the ideal candidate?*
- Demonstrated experience in effective leadership, with ability to
coach, develop and engage individuals and teams. Instill a culture of
accountability and effective leadership of change.
- MSc or PhD Degree in engineering or chemistry, combined with relevant
industrial experience. An advanced degree within catalysis is preferred.
- Strong experience with application development, strategic planning and
budget accountability; or any equivalent relevant combination of experience
and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to
perform the work.
- Ability to work in a matrix organization with multi-cultural team, as
well as customers.
- Excellent communication, presentation, organization, and influencing
skills.
- Demonstrated successful program leadership and multi-project
coordination.
- Strong record of building relationships based on trust and
collaboration with external customers as well as internal colleagues.
- Track record of facilitating new product programs/launches.
