Dear colleagues,

A Postdoctoral Research Associate (RA) position is available with funding from the EPSRC (UKRI) project “RAPID: Real-time process modelling and diagnostics: Powering digital factories” (Institute for Digital Communications/IDCOM, University of Edinburgh, UK):

https://gow.epsrc.ukri.org/NGBOViewGrant.aspx?GrantRef=EP/V028618/1
(collaborators: Queen’s University Belfast, Seagate Technology, GlaxoSmithKline/GSK, NVIDIA)

The appointed RA will undertake research in randomised numerical linear algebra to develop new algorithms for real-time computational modelling and inverse problems at scale. This will entail both independent research work, as well as collaboration with RAPID researchers and industrial partners. The successful candidate will proactively engage with the PI, CoI and collaborators to develop new methods for model prediction and data assimilation using randomised numerical linear algebra, in the context of classical numerical approximation schemes as well as deep neural networks (NN) for parametric Partial Differential Equations (PDEs).

Closing Date for Applications: Jan. 30, 2023.
