Dear Colleague,

Process Systems Enterprise (PSE) is pleased to announce the call for
submissions for the 2013 PSE Model-Based Innovation (MBI) prize
(http://www.psenterprise.com/academic/mbi_prize.html). The closing date for
submissions is midnight GMT on 15 July 2013.

Every year PSE awards prizes totalling €5000 (EUR) for the best published
papers in which the company's gPROMS advanced process modelling software is
used to generate research results in a novel area of application or
technology. There are three prizes: a winner's prize of €3000 (EUR) and two
runners-up prizes of €1000 (EUR) each.

If you used gPROMS family products in support of research published between
1 July 2011 and 30 June 2013, you are encouraged to submit a paper for the
2013 prize. It takes very little time or effort to submit a paper, as
submissions are for existing published papers. All you have to do is provide
some author and publication details on the submission form
(http://www.psenterprise.com/academic/mbi_prize/form_mbi_prize.html) and a
copy of the paper.

The research presented in the paper should make substantial use of gPROMS-
based modelling (using any gPROMS family product) in order to achieve the
results described. The judges will favour novel applications or application
in novel technology areas. The prize is open to applicants from industry as
well as academia.

Submissions will be judged by the panel of three leading academics in the
field of Process Systems Engineering: Professor Stratos Pistikopoulos
(Imperial College London), Professor Rafiqul Gani (Technical University of
Denmark) and Professor Michael Georgiadis (University of Western Macedonia,
Greece). The prize will be awarded at the 2013 AIChE Annual Meeting in San
Francisco.

The 2012 main prize was won by Viviana Silva, Carla Pereira and Alírio
Rodrigues of the University of Porto, Portugal, for their paper PermSMBR—A
New Hybrid Technology: Application on Green Solvent and Biofuel Production,
published in the AIChE Journal of July 2011.

PSE & gPROMS
PSE (http://www.psenterprise.com/index.html) is a pioneer in the fields of
Model-Based Engineering (MBE) and Model-Based Innovation. Our gPROMS
advanced process modelling products are widely used in academic research,
particularly in areas of novel technology, to provide quantification to
support research results through the application of first-principles
modelling.

More details on the prize, including guidelines for submission and terms &
conditions, can be found on the PSE website at
http://www.psenterprise.com/academic/mbi_prize.html. If you have any
