After many years of dedicated service, Peter Rony and Karl Schnelle are stepping down as the CAST Publications Board Chair and Associate Editor.  During their time in these positions, the CAST Communications has evolved from a paper bulletin to an electronic newsletter.  The CAST Executive Committee thanks them for their efforts and wishes them well with their future activities.

With the desire to continue providing the CAST Communications newsletter, the Executive Committee is looking for volunteers to fill the positions for CAST Publications Board Chair and Associate Editor.  The description for each position is as follows:

Publications Board Chair
*       Evolve content and format of CAST Communications newsletter to CAST Division members better.
*       Acquire articles and write items for CAST Communications newsletter.
*       Request Area 10a, 10b, 10c, 10d, and 10e program coordinators to ask authors of high-quality presentations at the November AIChE meeting to submit their PowerPoint files for publication in CAST Communications.  Each author (or author's organization) retains copyright ownership of the published file.
*       Participate in CAST Executive Committee meetings both at the November meetings and during phone conferences.
*       Edit final copy of CAST Communications.

Associate Editor
*       Acquire articles and write items for CAST Communications newsletter.
*       Acquire advertising copy and bill advertisers.  Convert ads to html newsletter format.
*       Layout newsletter.  Translate all articles into html newsletter format.  Edit html code on local copy of website pages, create new pages, and ftp all files (.htm, .doc, .xls, and .pdf) to Dotster web site account.
*       Edit final copy.
*       Email CAST Communications announcement to the cast10 list.  Email same announcement to Web Coordinator (to forward to current AIChE CAST email list).
