As the chair of the selection committee, I am very pleased to announce that 
Dr. Michael Baldea has been selected as the CAST10B Programming Chair for 
2013.  There were nominations of very qualified candidates for this

Short Biography 

Michael Baldea received his Diploma (2000) and M.Sc. degree (2001) in 
Chemical Engineering from "Babes-Bolyai" University in Cluj-Napoca, Romania 
and obtained a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of 
Minnesota in 2006. He is currently with the Advanced Control and Operations 
Research Group at the Praxair Technology Center in Tonawanda, NY. His 
research focuses on theory and applications in modeling, analysis, 
optimization and control of complex, multi-scale process and energy 
systems. He has written or co-authored over 30 peer-reviewed publications 
and has given several invited conference presentations and seminars.
