Title: Business Development Manager – Refinery Services

JOB PURPOSE: 

This position plays a lead role in developing the refinery value 
proposition effort for Praxair’s refinery business development team on a 
global basis.  
 
 
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
 
•Bring insight into Praxair’s refinery value proposition effort, to 
improve refinery profitability by using industrial gas leading to winning 
of  industrial gas business 
•Perform hydrogen optimization studies, evaluating FCC and Sulfur plant 
oxygen enrichment opportunities and other refinery studies
•Engage with refinery customers, Praxair’s global hydrogen and regional 
business development teams
•Perform refinery market studies to understand emerging markets/ potential 
customers
•Provide technical insight and support to others within the refineries 
services team as necessary 
•Utilize process simulation packages, thermodynamics, and reaction 
engineering knowledge for ongoing project work.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:
•Ideal candidate will have Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, 
advanced degree is preferred

Professional:
•5 – 10 years’ experience in functions such as process engineering, 
planning and refinery economics, working for a refinery, technology 
company, refinery catalyst manufacturer or similar organization is 
required.
•The candidate will have strong experience in all refining processes 
preferably having expertise on hydroprocessing and hydrocracking 
technologies  
•Additional background in FCC unit, Sulfur unit and refinery linear 
programming models is preferred.  
•Advanced skills and knowledge in process simulation software such as 
Unisim, Microsoft Excel, thermodynamics and reaction engineering are 
required.
•Strong Interpersonal and relationship building skills
•Ability to motivate and influence others
