Dear CAST members,

Last year at the AIChE Annual Meeting, the CAST Division organized a CAST student lunch on 
Monday, which was attended by 15 students.  After this successful start, we plan this year to 
expand the initiative, including financial support by CAST and adding an ice-cream social on 
Wednesday evening, in addition to the Monday student lunch.

We are now seeking student volunteers from the CAST community to serve on the organizing 
committee.  This student initiative is aimed toward graduate student members of CAST, although 
undergraduate student CAST members are also welcome to volunteer.  This is a great chance for 
students to network within the CAST community, as well as an opportunity for professional service.

We ask that faculty members forward this email to their graduate students who are attending the 
AIChE annual meeting.  Students volunteering for the organizing committee should email Professor 
Martha Grover no later than July 17.  

The CAST student events at the AIChE meeting will be open to AIChE CAST members only.  
However, CAST membership is only $10 per year, and CAST membership also makes a student 
eligible to apply for a CAST travel grant to the AIChE meeting.
