I’d like to invite you to participate in the Symposium on Modeling and Optimization by presenting your latest research on optimization methods, applications, or modeling platforms.
We typically have a mix of industrial and academic participants and have been mostly focused on applications with APMonitor in the past. We are broadening the scope of the webinars and are soliciting involvement from other contributors as well. We broadcast and record the presentations with WebEx and are making them available on YouTube for later retrieval. Here are a few recent examples:
CURIOSITY: Big Mars Rover for Big Mars Science! - http://youtu.be/cfku_J4Ectk
Moving Horizon Estimation of an Aerial Towed Cable System - http://youtu.be/toJHFdG4N2A
Index-2 DAE Solutions of Separations Processes - http://youtu.be/1hnBFU-rFBY
We typically hold the webinars once every 1-2 weeks at 9 AM Mountain time / 11 AM Eastern time. A link to the full schedule is below:

On the schedule there is a link to register for the live webinar (free registration). The registration allows us to send out a password and log-in information. As a common courtesy, please mute your microphone during the presentation. If you would like to present for one of the sessions, please contact me with the following information:

Abstract
Please join us tomorrow for a presentation by Kody Powell at the University of Texas at Austin. Kody will present his work on new Mathematical Programs with Equilibrium Constraints (MPECs) that allow IF...THEN as continuous formulations for simulation and optimization. Kody is leading a group of researchers at UT Austin to integrate energy storage into the campus combined Heating, Cooling, and Power system.
Meeting Information and Registration:
Topic: MPECs for Integrated Energy Storage
Webinar: Tuesday, Sept 4th, 9 AM Mountain Time
