For what jobs to apply? Where to live, and what house to buy? When and who
to marry?

YOUNG ADULTHOOD is filled with many INTIMIDATING QUESTIONS. For 1 in 4
young adults, there are more questions to answer. “I have depression and
can’t always get out of bed in the morning – how will I make it to work?”
“I sometimes have panic attacks when I’m too stressed out, what if my boss
finds out?” “Can I even fulfill the demands of my position?”

This Thursday, ACTIVE MINDS at Maryland will have Dan Kelliher, a
practicing lawyer coping with BIPOLAR disorder from Howard County, come to
speak with total HONESTY on behalf of the National Alliance on Mental
Illness (NAMI) about his experiences both and a young adult and in the
professional world. He will recount how he managed to overcome his
obstacles and live a peaceful life with his wife and four children
alongside a student from our own campus who has been dealing with Anxiety
Disorder for 6 years and has finally begun her path to recovery. Mental
illness can be TREATED. Attendees will have time to ask him individual
questions about his experiences as well.

Come by the Art & Sociology building, Room 1117 this Thursday, March
29that 7pm to hear Dan's story!
