The Pre-Student Osteopathic Medical Association (Pre-SOMA) will be holding
its last meeting of the semester this Wednesday November 16th at 6:00pm in
HJP 1104. There will be Two Guest Speakers at the meeting: Dr. Lauren
Richter and Dr. Francisco Ward. Do you want to know what it's like being an
osteopathic physician or want to shadow one? Don't miss out this exclusive
meeting. Refreshments will be served.

Dr. Lauren Richter D.O. M.Ac. is an Integrative Family Physician and
Acupuncturist at the Center for Integrative Medicine of the University of
Maryland Medical Center. Dr. Richter specializes in the integration of
modern and traditional medical therapies, along with medications and
surgery. This gives you, the patient, several approaches from which to
choose in designing your own health care program. As Dr. Richter puts it,
"The goal is to find the CAUSE of your problems, and not just cover up the
symptoms."

Dr. Francisco Ward D.O. is a Board Certified Physiatrist with Subspecialty
Certification in Pain Medicine. Dr. Francisco Ward graduated from the
Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his residency in
Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Johns Hopkins Hospital. As an
osteopathic physician, Dr. Ward not only integrates a healthy balanced
lifestyle to his patients but also regularly performs hands on therapy
called OMM.
