With Thanksgiving being prime time for community outreach, the Honors
Student Programming Council wanted to harness the unstoppable Terp spirit
towards a good cause. What better way than our take on a Turkey Trot?
Because we all know that terrapins can take turkeys any day! So grab a
friend and come out to Terp Trot: 5K for DNA! It will be held on November
18th from 9:30am to 12pm, with registration starting at 8:30am in the Anne
Arundel Basement Lounge. The 5K route will be on-campus and starting at
Anne Arundel Hall. Anyone can join (you don’t have to be a member of the
Honors College), so ride solo or form a group and race/walk together! All
proceeds will go to Genetic Alliance, who is committed to raising awareness
and advocating for research of genetic diseases. For event details and
registration info, see our FB event at
http://www.facebook.com/events/389497417788467/ Our DNA may vary from
person to person, but our will and desire to help remains the same. Together,
let’s fight genetic diseases on a molecular level!
