Subject: BSCI238A Ornithology in Fall 2019
Description:
BSCI238A is an introduction to the field of ornithology, in which students
will examine bird ecology and evolution. Topics covered include ornithology
field methods, identification, anatomy, migration, evolution, breeding
behavior, and conservation. Homework frequently includes brief outdoor
observation and identification of birds. BSCI160 or a comparable evolutionary
course is a recommended prerequisite, and some familiarity with basic ecology
and natural and sexual selection principles is expected.
This is a Student Initiated Course (STIC) that will be taught by Madison
Plunkert as the undergraduate facilitator with Dr. Thomas Holtz as the
faculty advisor.
