Subject: $150 and Teaching Opportunity

Description:
Do you love science or mathematics? Do you want to give back to the
surrounding UM community?
If your answer is yes, you can combine your passion with teaching science or
mathematics lessons at local elementary schools.

How can you do this? Sign up for TLPL 101. The class meets once a week for
1 hour and 20 minutes. During the semester, you will work with UM faculty to
develop inquiry-based lessons. You will teach two lessons at local
elementary schools. All schools are on the UM shuttle line.

Requirements: Background check and a three-hour block during the week to do
the lessons. This includes travel to and from the school, teaching the
lessons, and cleanup. Remember, you will only teach two lessons.

What will you gain from this course? You will develop organizational skills,
communication skills, and personal experiences that can be shared in essays
when completing applications for graduate and professional schools.

For more inquiries about the course, please contact Dr. Catherine VanNetta at
