Participate in a research study on running biomechanics conducted by
Dr. Jae Kun Shim in the Dept. of Kinesiology at University of
Maryland, College Park.
What will you get for participating?
(1) Under Armour Running Shoes, (2) Running Shorts, and (3) 40% Discount Card
Who is eligible?
Females (age 18-50 yrs) with size 7 feet
The Task:
(i) Two 2 hour sessions for running in multiple shoes
(ii) Running twice a week for 20 min with a new pair of shoes
for 4 weeks
(iii) Running in one pair of shoes at the end of 4 weeks
We will track your running action and energy expenditure using 3D
motion capturing and a metabolic unit.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the changes in running
biomechanics and physiology by changing the shoe structure.
It is the first step towards developing a shoe design that minimizes injuries.
