Hello,

We have a great community service opportunity for your students and wanted to know if you could pass it along on your list serv. Thank you!


Are you interested in mentoring local kids and helping them set goals for college? Do you want to impact and change lives? Are you interested in effecting positive change in the youth of tomorrow?  Then join Terp Tracks!
Terp Tracks, part of the America Reads*America Counts program at the University of Maryland, pairs UM students with 6th grade students in Prince George’s County for six weeks.  Through interaction during a series of workshops centered on educational outlook opportunities, we encourage students to realize the importance and possibility of attending college.

Requirements for Becoming a Terp Tracks Mentor
•       Must be available on the following Thursdays from 1:30-4:30 p.m. (this time block includes the travel time to and from the elementary school)
March 17th
March 31st
April 7th
April 14th
April 28th
May 5th
*If your class ends right at 1:50 contact us so that we can make arrangements

•       Must be available all day on April 30th (Maryland Day) – the students will be coming to campus for a field trip on this day
•       Must have a strong interest in working with middle-school age students
