The Joint Institute for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition (JIFSAN) is seeking a student for a part-time position to support the routine activities of the Food Safety Risk Analysis Program, which include a database and workshops and training courses for food safety professionals. This position provides the unique opportunity to gain experience in the field of food safety risk analysis.
Responsibilities:
* Manage course advertisement calendar for Risk Analysis Courses
* Monitor course registrations
* Monitor and update course information website as well as online courses content
* Manage the risk analysis participants database and issue reports
* Maintain the JIFSAN risk analysis training email
* Help Training Coordinator with course logistics
* Help with indexation of records into FoodRisk.org
* Update database links on FoodRisk.org
* Provides general support to the Risk Analysis Program Manager and FoodRisk Program Manager Specialist
Qualifications:
* Academic background in biology, chemistry, food science or nutrition
* Ability to understand scientific papers and documents and knowledge of the scientific method (particularly in the field of chemical and life sciences)
* Good general computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Adobe Acrobat)
* Attention to details and strong organizational skills
* Ability to meet deadlines
* Self-motivation and a sense of initiative
