Subject: Coral Restoration Foundation Internship

Description:
This is an announcement for a internship position with the Coral Restoration
Foundation for Spring 2016. The internship start date is January 4, 2016 to
May 6, 2016. Application deadline is October 23, 2015 to be considered and
applicants will be notified by October 30, 2015.

The CRF internship is a rigorous program that invites participants to delve
into the world of coral restoration and non-profit inner-workings. Internship
positions generally last 4 months and are full-time positions (40hrs/wk).
Interns can expect to gain a vast amount of experience both on the water and
in the Education Center (EC). In the EC, interns perform a range of tasks
including answering phones, greeting visitors, inputting data, and performing
aquarium maintenance. Dive days occur 1-4* times a week where interns assist
CRF staff with various activities including maintenance of CRF's offshore
coral nurseries and outplanting corals to designated restoration sites
throughout the Upper Keys. Interns are key to the functioning of our
recreational dive programs where they will act as team leaders for multiple
divers—meaning they will be asked to lead a small group of divers through
the steps of working in the coral nursery and outplanting on the reef. The
interns are asked to present to the community on multiple occasions, complete
a personal project, and learn how to and apply for grants. **Diving is
weather dependent, and can cause fluctuation in days on the water, sometimes
resulting in weeks where there is zero water time.**
