EDUCATION ABROAD Deadline Extended
India: Cross-Cultural Perspectives on Health
FMSC 498I: Special Topics Family Science: Cross-Cultural Perspectives on
Health in India (3 credits)
May 23-June 21, 2013
This short term program to Northern India offers students the opportunity
to learn about the complex health and development issues facing Indian
communities, to compare and contrast their own life experiences, and to
explore global health firsthand. Participants will begin their journey in
the pink city, Jaipur, and attend lectures at a university where they will
meet local college students. They will then travel to the bustling market
town of Manali and further explore global health, with a strong focus on
social determinants and a family systems framework. This is an exciting
opportunity for students to enhance basic research skills, engage in a
cross-cultural exchange and dialogue with members of the host communities,
and to investigate the intersections of health and development in India.
Apply online by March 15 at http://ter.ps/sumindia.
