The 2013 Spring/Summer Opportunity for Achievement in Research-Minority
Health and Health Disparities (SOAR-MHHD) Research Internship is aimed at
engaging, recruiting, and training highly qualified undergraduate students
from underrepresented minority and other disparity populations, from local
universities, into minority health and health disparities research careers.
The internship is supported through the Center of Excellence for Health
Disparities in Our Nationšs Capital (CEHD), a National Institute on
Minority Health and Health Disparities grant award to Georgetown and
Howard Universities, in collaboration with the Georgetown-Howard
Universities Center for Clinical and Translational Science (GHUCCTS). Our
goal is to promote careers in minority health and health disparities
research. The vision of the CEHD is to eliminate health disparities by
transferring knowledge from research to practice to policy.
The SOAR-MHHD Research Internship is a specialized didactic and mentored
