Each year the University of Maryland, College Park in addition to the other institutions in the University System of Maryland are invited to nominate candidates for this prestigious position to the University System of Maryland Student Council. Our single nominee is then reviewed by the System Student Council and their finalists are forwarded to the Chancellor and from his desk they are forwarded to the Governor. In the past, College Park has been represented by outstanding scholar leaders.

It is time to determine the College Park Student Regent nominee. I invite your application for this position and I encourage you to provide this information to students you believe would be exceptional candidates for this position on the Board of Regents. Applicants are invited to submit their completed applications on-line by November 2, 2011 at http://thestamp.umd.edu/regent/ . Finalists for this position will be interviewed during the week of November 7th and a student nominee from College Park will be forward to the University System of Maryland Student Council. A detailed position description can also be found at the aforementioned website.

Should you have any questions regarding the application or the selection process, please contact me at 301-314-8491 or at [log in to unmask] . I ask that you forward this material to all students and advisors you may have at your disposal.

Thank you for helping us to identify outstanding student leaders.

Best,
Donna
