Description:
U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Chemical Defense (MRICD) is the
Department of Defense's lead laboratory tasked with the development of
medical countermeasures against chemical threats. For more information about

The internship will involve participating in the USAMRICD absorption,
distribution, metabolism, excretion, and toxicity (ADMET) center of
excellence. The participant will learn and develop assays specifically
relevant to metabolism studies.  Research will involve assessing novel
compounds for metabolism and toxicity characteristics.  Studies will include
conducting metabolism experiments using cytochrome P450 enzyme subtypes,
isolated liver microsomes from different species and cardiotoxicity
assessments. The participant will learn about the significance of metabolism
as it relates to drug development and become proficient in assays utilizing
96- and 384-well plate format and automated liquid handlers.

•	U.S. Citizen Only
•	Must have a Bachelor or Master's degree in Life Health and Medical
Sciences or Physical Sciences (chemistry, biology or related discipline)
•	Degrees must be received within the last 60 months or anticipated to be
received by June 2019
•	Must be willing to submit for a secret security clearance upon arrival
and be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
•	Random drug screening
