Subject: Teaching assistant positions Biological Sciences Program

Description:
The Biological Sciences Program will hire teaching assistants for the
following positions, for fall 2022.  Current undergraduates or recent
graduates are encouraged to apply.  If you are interested in any of these
positions please respond and I will send a link to a google form in which to
enter your information.

Each TA position requires about 10 hours per week of work. The specific work
and background requirements for each position are given below.  The stipend
for a current undergraduate teaching assistant is $1875.00.  The stipend for
a teaching assistant with a bachelor’s degree is $3000.00.

General requirements
•	Overall GPA 3.0 or higher
•	B or better in course for which you TA
•	At least two higher level (200) BSCI courses with grade of B or better

BSCI160  Lecture TA position.
•	Duties will vary depending on instructor, but generally are to attend
lecture, help with any in class activities, hold office hours and review
sessions, and grade homework and exams.
•	Lecture hours, attendance required
o	Position 1 MWF 9 – 9:50am. Dr. Emily Bruns
o	Position 2 TuTh 11am – 12:15pm.  Dr. Leo Shapiro

BSCI170 Lecture TA position
•	Duties will vary depending on instructor, but generally are to attend
lecture, help with any in class activities, hold office hours and review
sessions, and grade homework and exams.
•	Lecture hours attendance required
o	Position 1 TuTh 2 – 3:25pm.  Dr. Reid Compton

BSCI1171 lab prep  Dr. Swarna Mohan
•	Be in attendance 3-4 days a week
•	Be in attendance specifically 11am – 2pm on Fridays.
•	Every week typically restock the lab rooms with the solutions for the
week, replace expendable and experimental lab equipment/supplies, keep an
inventory of what is used, and break down and setup lab rooms every Friday
with help from the lab manager.
