TISSUE CULTURE TECHNICIAN
Part-time (Job ID: 207312)

Position available immediately for an entry-level tissue culture technician in a research laboratory that studies genetic mechanisms of bacterial pathogenesis, specifically the bacterial pathogens Shigella spp. and Chlamydia spp. The position is located in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology, the Uniformed Services University School of Medicine, Bethesda, MD. 

Responsibilities are to provide routine semi-technical work involving a variety of laboratory support duties.  Specific tasks include propagation and maintenance of tissue culture cells for experiments; preparation of reagents, solutions, and culture media; maintenance of laboratory equipment, supplies, and glassware; and performance of other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:  Knowledge of basic laboratory equipment and supplies; ability to follow detailed instructions; ability to handle multiple tasks. 
Minimum Education/Training Requirements:  High School graduate, college level lab course work may be considered to meet this requirement. 
Minimum Experience:  0-2 years of laboratory experience.
