Are you currently studying, or strongly interested in studying a language
critical to US national interests? Are you strongly interested in US
government service?

The Boren Scholarship offers undergraduates up to $20,000 for long-term (two
semesters; one for STEM majors) study abroad focused on learning critical
languages. US Citizenship is required.

Eligible regions include Africa, South Asia, East and Southeast Asia, Eastern
Europe and former Soviet Republics, Latin America (esp. for Portuguese), and
the Middle East. (Boren Scholarships MAY NOT be used for study in Western
Europe, Canada, Australia, or New Zealand.) Boren Scholarships may be used
for study abroad in Summer 2022, Fall 2022, and Spring 2023.
