Dr.  Stephen Thomas, professor of Health Services Administration in the
School of Public Health and Director of the University of Maryland Center for
Health Equity at the University of Maryland, will speak on racial and ethnic
health disparities, a topic about
   which he is a nationally recognized expert. See his bio here:

Description
The  Pre-Medical Society will host a lecture on the Affordable Care Act
offered by Dr. Karoline Mortensen, Assistant Professor in the School of
Public Health. (http://www.popcenter.umd.edu/mprc-associates/karoline).
   Dr. Mortensen studies vulnerable populations and their interactions with
health insurance and health care utilization. Students interested in any
health career should be conversant on this topic and plan to attend.
