Beyond the Classroom (BTC): A 3-semester UMD leadership program for juniors
and seniors from all majors that combines:

    *   Coursework focused on solving global problems & civic issues
    *   A professional internship in the non-profit or public sector
    *   Civic engagement & service learning opportunities
    *   Career mentoring & making connections with experts
    *   A supportive learning community of UMD students from diverse
backgrounds

   ...And we offer housing in our exclusive BTC apartments in South Campus
Commons. (Note: Living in our housing is not a requirement for joining BTC.)

   2nd semester sophomores and current juniors and seniors may apply.
